Welcome to the official home page of the Mid-Central Illinois
Regional Council of Carpenters-JATC. Our training program combines
hands-on classroom education by qualified instructors with on-the-job
training. Apprentices attend 4 weeks of hands-on training per year at
one of 180 training centers located throughout the country.
This "earn while you learn" approach gives you the opportunity to earn a
good living while developing highly marketable skills...for life. We
offer apprenticeship in carpenter, floor layers, millwrights, pile
drivers, cabinetmakers and Pile Driver. This is an exciting and
satisfying career offer life-long careers in the construction industry.
A UBC apprentice is someone who learns a trade while working under the
guidance of a skilled journey level worker Apprenticeship programs are
available to anyone who is interested in becoming a UBC apprentice and
who is willing to apply him/herself to learning a trade.
You earn while you learn the trade. Union journeymen Carpenters wages
and fringe benefits are negotiated on their behalf by the union through
collective bargaining with signatory contractors. The MCIRCC-JATC
apprenticeship programs partner with community colleges to offer college
credit for apprenticeship classes.
Our on-site facilities include a dormitory for students living outside a
50-mile radius of Pekin, giving you the opportunity to take advantage of
the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program, no matter where you live
within the district. The dormitory features a comfortable, home-like
setting with recreational facilities and catered meals free of charge
